lyrics

Swept adrift by the frigid winds
Far from our distant home
Sights only upon the sunset
And a wild untamed land

Banished are the keepers of peace
Their duty was left undone
As the uproar begins to heave from below
That of wild men and rogues

The lions carry their arms and refuse to idle
And the fires of wrath shall sweep
Across the eastern American shores
The lowly will suffer from the bold

Every musket, and every pike
Down to every last plank of timber
Feeding the black fumes upon Providence
Pulling the weight of the damned

A Spaniard's fortress lies in ruin
The seadog army of Morgan claims their prize
Great settlements smolder and burn
In the wake of Bacon's raid
Swift revolts piling cadavres
Along old Jamestown's plains
Like Winslow's great stampede
Along the frozen swamps of Kingston

To strive or be overcome
Is the law of this new land
This scheme of withered design
That strives in the wake of smoke and death

In another time
In another age
We could have had a life of peace
The die is cast now
What the first voyage left for us
Is what shall define our world
